Job Summary:
This position is for students who are looking to gain experience in engineering while pursuing a bachelor's degree in professional engineering. These positions are located at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard or the Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP) Activity (a tenant of the Shipyard) and are Intern positions for qualified engineering students. The candidates will assist senior level engineers in the review and evaluation of engineering data prepared by Shipyard or SUBMEPP engineers. In addition to Student Trainee (General Engineer), applicants may also be appointed as Student Trainee (Electrical Engineer), Student Trainee (Mechanical Engineer), or Student Trainee (Nuclear Engineer) depending on activity needs and student educational backgrounds.
