Job Summary:

OSP provides analytical, administrative, and executive secretariat functions for three Federal advisory committees: (1) the NIH Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee (RAC), (2) the U.S. National Science Advisory Board of Biosecurity (NSABB), and (3) the NIH Scientific Management Review Board (SMRB). These advisory committees are composed of non-government and government experts in fields such as sciences, medicine, law, and ethics. These committees are chartered according to various Federal laws, regulations, and policies. The OSP participates in the development of new research policies and programs in a variety of arenas across the research spectrum of basic, clinical, and translational research. OSP also participates and provides science policy expertise in the development of NIH's legislative, budget, and strategic planning priorities, including the annual budget formulation and justification processes. OSP consists of approximately 65 professional staff engaged in science policy analysis, development, evaluation, and reporting. As a Staff Assistant with the Office of Science Policy you will be serving as a representative for the office on all matters related to implementation of policy, plans and programs. This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director, Office of Science Policy, Office of Biotechnology Activities in Bethesda, MD.
