Job Summary:
The Office of Economic Impact and Diversity (ED), Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is responsible for developing and administering Departmental policies, practices and procedures under Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and related statues and Executive Orders which prohibit discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. The office develops and executes Department-wide policies to implement applicable legislation and Executive Orders that strengthen diversity goals affecting equal employment opportunities, minority educational institutions, and small businesses. The mission is to identify and implement ways of ensuring that minorities are afforded an opportunity to participate fully in the energy programs of the department.
