The Alexandria VA Health Care System is seeking a CHIEF OF STAFF to join the Executive Leadership team in leading the Medical Center in fulfilling its mission as a Mental Health Center of Excellence and a Long Term Care Center of Excellence while continuing the development of the robust primary care and basic surgery programs. The Chief of Staff will be energetic and dynamic with the ability to coach and mentor clinical leaders at the facility toward these common goals. The Chief of Staff will be responsible for overseeing the clinical and academic missions of the organization. The facility has a long affiliation with the Tulane University Medical Center and is planning for growth in its residency programs. The candidate must have leadership experience both as a clinician and an administrator. Exceptional operational and financial management skills are essential. The successful candidate must have the ability to meet performance measure goals and possess a thorough knowledge of the standards held by the Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief of Staff must be a skilled interpersonal communicator, possess the ability to promote innovation, be able to lead others and inspire organizational excellence. Board Certification is required; Certification in an area compatible with the scope of the facility is preferred. The Alexandria VA Health Care System, Alexandria, Louisiana, is shaded by beautiful old live oak trees in a park-like setting on 128 acres of rolling hills. It is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 3 facility serving Veterans within 23 of Louisiana's 64 parishes.
