VA Central California Health Care System, Fresno, CA is a level II complexity level medical center that is affiliated with University of California San Francisco Medical Education Program and supports three community-based outpatient clinics located in Tulare, Merced and Oakhurst. VACCHCS services veterans located throughout the Central Valley. Fresno, a city of 500,000, is located in the heart of California and is adjacent to Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon Parks, several lakes and year-round recreation. Our central location allows us to be a short 2-4 hour drive from various locations, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles and the coast. The Central Valley is renowned as one of the nation's bread baskets due to its rich, fertile agricultural land. Fresno/Clovis continues to offer one of the most affordable housing markets in the state and has excellent primary and secondary schools. NOTE: The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate's education and experience and recommend the step at which the candidate will be placed in that specific grade.
