Rhode Island, the Ocean State, is known for its scenic shoreline, offering sandy beaches, and quaint villages as well as, the opulent mansions of Newport, the sailing capital of the world. Providence is located between Boston and New York City with excellent transportation facilities in both directions. Educational opportunities abound with Ivy League, private and public universities throughout the compact New England area. The Medical Center delivers a broad range of services including general medicine, surgical and psychiatric inpatient facilities, fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). The Medical Center includes a vibrant research program and is affiliated with the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy. The Center also operates three Community Based Outpatient Clinics in New Bedford, Hyannis, MA and Middletown, RI as well as three Vet Centers. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by a (physician's compensation panel). This is a permanent/full-time position. The work schedule is: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Subject to availability/call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This Physician position is located in the Primary Care Service and is not a bargaining unit position.
