Job Summary:
The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking a highly-motivated and capable individual to serve as the Assistant Director for Demographic Programs. The Demographic Directorate directs Census programs on the United States population and its characteristics, income and poverty, and housing. The Assistant Director of Demographic Programs will coordinate the formulation and development of corporate level plans and programs for the collection, processing, and dissemination of statistical data from demographic surveys. In coordination with the Associate Director for Demographic Programs and executive level division chiefs, you will direct the work of survey directors and other senior staff in the conduct of more than 25 reimbursable surveys, and provide oversight for demographic program survey operations. This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) career-reserved position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran's preference is not applicable to SES.
