Job Summary:
This position is with the U.S. Department of Labor/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Providence Area Office. The incumbent of this position conducts inspections within assigned geographic boundaries of a variety of privately owned industrial, commercial, and construction business establishments which employ specialized, complex work practices. The incumbent determines compliance with published standards, issues citations for violations, proposes fiscal penalties, and provides technical assistance to employers and employees to achieve safe working environments. This position has promotion potential to the grade of GS-12. Appointment to this position will require a successful background investigation. This position requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met. This position is inside the Bargaining Unit.
