Job Summary:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recruiting for a new director of its National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), with a budget in excess of $1 billion and a staff of more than 1,800. The Director will be an integral part of the management team of the agency and will demonstrate a strong commitment to public health surveillance, prevention research, and programs for the elimination, prevention and control of disease, disability and death caused by HIV/AIDS, non-HIV retroviruses, viral hepatitis, other STDs and TB in the United States. This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a group of senior government leaders who possess a diverse portfolio of experience and the strong skills required to lead across organizations. As an SES member, you will influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and lead the next generation of public servants. The position of Director, NCHHSTP, is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Infectious Diseases, and reports to the Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases, who reports to the Director, CDC. The incumbent of this position serves as a senior staff member who plays a key role in the enhancement of CDC's leadership in core public health sciences.
