Job Summary:
This position is being filled under the the Pathways Internship Program which is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities to explore Federal careers while still in school. Who May Apply: United States Citizens enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in an educational institution (see Pathways Internship Program education requirements under "Qualifications Required") AND who live or attend school within the local commuting area (50 mile radius) of either Berlin, Maryland or Chincoteague, Virginia. This position(s) is a temporary appointment under the Pathways Internship Program . The appointment is expected to provide full-time, 40 hours per week employment May 2013 through August 2013; work schedule may also be changed to part-time and/or intermittent depending on funding and work availability. The Pathways Internship Program does allow extensions beyond one year provided the education requirements are met. The Program also provides non-competitive conversion to a term or permanent appointment, however, there is no guarantee for this conversion. Number of Vacancies: We expect to fill 1-2 positions at this time; however, the announcement may be used to fill additional similar vacancies.
