Job Summary:

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is conducting a search for a Deputy Associate Administrator for their Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr) to provide national leadership to support health professions workforce training programs to increase availability of health professionals across the nation in response to changing health care delivery systems. With a budget of more than $700 million and more than 180 employees, the BHPr administers and manages training programs through grants to health professions schools and training programs, which use the funds to develop, expand and enhance their efforts to train the health workforce throughout the Nation. Included are programs focused on increasing diversity, encouraging clinicians to practice in underserved areas, and preparing health care providers equipped to meet the needs of a changing health care environment. BHPr examines a broad range of issues that impact the supply, demand, distribution, and education of the Nation's health workforce and provides policymakers with the information necessary to make informed decisions regarding the health professions workforce and provision of care. This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a small elite group of senior government leaders who possess a diverse portfolio of experience and the strong skills required to lead across organizations. This dedicated corps of executives is charged with providing strategic leadership and upholding a commitment to public service that transcends loyalty to a specific agency mission or individual profession. As an SES member you will influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and lead the next generation of public servants.
