Job Summary:

The assignments involve: a) testing and evaluating the potency, safety, purity, and efficacy of products; b) developing and optimizing an in vitro assay as an alternative to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) rabies potency assay; c) design and conduct vaccination-serology to vaccination-challenge experiments to compare methodologies for detecting differences between subpotent, marginal, and fully efficacious inactivated rabies vaccines; d) designing, developing, evaluating and standardizing laboratory techniques used both by the veterinary biologics manufacturers and the CVB; e) collaboration with other governmental agencies and biologic firms for evaluation and validation of assay; f) preparing and evaluating references and reagents to support in vitro assay for use by CVB and biologic and scientific communities.
