Clinical Coding Coordinator - North West - Band 5 (21,308 - 27,901) Job Summary Main responsibilities are to provide an efficient and high quality Clinical Coding Service by ensuring the accurate translation of medical terminology into clinical codes. The post holder will deal with enquiries from senior clinical and managerial staff; ensure that clinical coding is completed within the Trust deadlines and supervise less experienced members of the team. This role will also require good working relationships with clinicians/senior management within the divisions, to develop local policies and guidelines to enable accurate timely efficient coding of clinical activities. The role of the clinical coding department is to abstract diagnostic and procedural information from patients' medical records to determine the codes for each admission and enter these on PAS (Patient Administration System).
