Job Summary:

This position is located in the Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA),San Francisco, CA. EBSA administers provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) as amended by the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1986 (COBRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the Newborns' and Mothers' Health Protection Act of 1996, the Mental Health Parity Act of 1996, and the Womens' Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998. The mission of this Group is to develop plan, implement, and direct a general information and education program for the public on ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.; to respond to specific inquiries from the public; and to provide technical assistance on the rights and obligations of plan participants, beneficiaries, and officials under the Acts. This position has promotion potential to 12. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. This position is inside the bargaining unit. Relocation costs will not be paid. At least one (1) position may be filled. If additional vacancies become available, additional selections may be made.
