Job Summary:

The incumbent of this position serves as Chief Counsel of the BEP and provides legal advice and counsel to the Director of the BEP, and his top officials with regard to the functions and activities of the BEP. The Bureau of Engraving & Printing (BEP) designs and manufactures U.S. currency and other official documents. The position reports to the Treasurys Assistant General Counsel for General Law, Ethics, and Regulation (GLER). The incumbent is the highest legal authority of the BEP and directs the activities of the Office of the Chief Counsel (BEP). Activities include providing legal interpretation of the statutes and regulations that govern the operations of the BEP, and providing legal advice and representation in such practice areas as Federal procurement, environmental, personnel, EEO, labor management relations, fiscal, information and privacy, and records management law. The incumbent supervises a professional legal staff.
