Job Summary:
You will serve as an Information Receptionist for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), Administrative Services Center (ASC) in Herndon, VA. This position provides support by receiving telephone calls and visitors, responding to inquiries, directing telephone calls, issuing visitor badges, signing for packages, maintaining an interoffice directory, and other clerical duties as assigned. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur within 180 days from the closing date. * If selected, your work schedule will be full time seasonal. Depending upon the level of disaster activity, you may be placed in a non-pay status if there is insufficient work. However, the work of this position will likely require you to work full-time most of the year. IMPORTANT NOTES: The Term Appointment does not confer competitive status, or reinstatement rights, on the individual selected. You may be promoted or reassigned to another Term position within SBA's Office of Disaster assistance; however, you may not be appointed non-competitively to another Federal position. You will initially be given a Term Appointment exceeding one year. If all other conditions of employment are met, this appointment may be extended, in increments, up to a total of four (4) years . The position is not eligible to participate in the agency's Telecommuting Program or Alternative Work Schedule. This position is a 40-hour, 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday, work schedule. On ocassion, especially during times of substantial disaster activity, you may be required to work overtime with little or no advance notice.
